Autotask Pricing: Autotask PSA Pricing Per User, Premium vs Ultimate, and Kaseya 365 Ops Cost
September 2026 · Assigner
Autotask pricing is not published. Kaseya sells Autotask PSA by quote per user per month, in two current editions, Premium and Ultimate. The only price Kaseya prints itself is for the Kaseya 365 Ops bundle: $129 per user per month, a three user minimum, and a one year term, with Autotask Ultimate included. Third party per user figures for Autotask on its own run from about $50 to $156 per user per month and disagree with each other. Workflow rules, which do all rule based ticket assignment, are in every edition. AI Ticket Triage, the only Autotask feature that picks a technician per ticket, is tied to the higher subscriptions.
Below is what each edition includes, what the Kaseya 365 Ops number buys, where the outside figures come from and why they conflict, a worked cost for a 15 technician MSP, and what it costs to add fair ticket assignment on top.
Autotask PSA editions: Premium vs Ultimate
The Datto request pricing page for Autotask is a form, not a price list. The document you can rely on is the Autotask edition comparison sheet Datto published for 2025, which has two columns: Premium and Ultimate. An older sheet from 2023 also listed Essentials, and some review sites still show it, but it does not appear in the current comparison. There is no Professional edition.
| Capability (2025 comparison sheet) | Premium | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|
| Workflow automation (rules and notifications) | Included | Included |
| Cooper Copilot AI | Not available | Included |
| Smart Ticket Triage (listed as coming soon on the sheet) | Not available | Included |
| Sandbox | Not available | By request |
| Wallboard licenses | 3 included | 10 included |
For ticket routing, the line that matters is the first one. Workflow rules are how Autotask sets a queue and a primary resource on a new ticket, and they are in both editions. The rest of the Ultimate list is AI, testing, and dashboards. So the edition decision is really about whether you want Kaseya AI features, not about whether tickets can be assigned automatically.
How much does Autotask cost per user?
Autotask PSA costs somewhere between about $50 and $156 per user per month on its own, according to third party sources, and exactly $129 per user per month when you buy it inside Kaseya 365 Ops. The spread is wide because the sources measure different things, and several of them do not say where their number came from.
| Source | Figure | How much weight to give it |
|---|---|---|
| Kaseya 365 Ops page (Kaseya) | $129 per user per month, minimum 3 users, one year term, Autotask Ultimate and IT Glue Enterprise included | Vendor published. The only official number. |
| SelectHub | Starts at $50 per user per month | No source given. One review site says it could not confirm the $50 figure. |
| Rallied (June 2026) | $50 to $99 or more per user per month; onboarding $2,000 to $6,000 one time | Competitor blog. Same article contains an implausible sub $6 line, so treat with care. |
| Flamingo | $85 to $130 per technician per month for the PSA module, 10 to 25 techs, bundled | Competitor blog, based on what MSPs report. |
| checkthat.ai | $90 to $145 per user per month for mid sized MSPs; $130 to $156 for small MSPs of 5 to 20 users | Its own table gives small MSPs $50 to $115, which conflicts with its text. |
| Capterra, TrustRadius | Custom quote; no free trial listed | Confirms there is no public price. |
Two patterns come out of this. First, small MSPs tend to pay more per seat, not less, because volume discounts start higher up. Second, most figures above $85 describe bundles or negotiated contracts, while the $50 figure is a starting point that nobody has traced to a Kaseya document. The honest planning range for a small or mid sized MSP buying Autotask alone is somewhere around $85 to $130 per technician per month, and the only way to know your number is a written quote with each product on its own line.
Vendr, the usual source for contract data, is not useful here. It has no Autotask or Datto page, and its Kaseya page covers every Kaseya product and wrongly describes Kaseya BMS as formerly Autotask. They are separate PSAs.
What Kaseya 365 Ops includes for $129 per user
Kaseya 365 Ops is sold as one subscription per user covering seven modules, with the PSA module chosen from Autotask, BMS, or Vorex. Kaseya states that Autotask Ultimate and IT Glue Enterprise are included, that there is a minimum of three user licenses and a one year term commitment, and that on renewal any price increase is capped at 5 percent plus CPI. Onboarding is required and is not priced on the page; Kaseya says it is tailored to your setup and that PSA migration is part of it. Payment processing fees are not included.
That makes Kaseya 365 Ops a good deal only if you would otherwise buy Autotask Ultimate and IT Glue Enterprise anyway. If you only need the PSA, you are paying for documentation software and other modules to get Ultimate, and the Premium edition bought on its own may come in lower. Ask for both quotes side by side.
What a 15 technician MSP pays in a year
Take an MSP with 15 technicians and service desk staff who each need a PSA seat. The license line alone, before onboarding:
| Scenario | Per user per month | 15 users, per year |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest third party figure (unverified) | $50 | $9,000 |
| Flamingo low end, bundled | $85 | $15,300 |
| Kaseya 365 Ops, vendor published | $129 | $23,220 |
| Flamingo high end, bundled | $130 | $23,400 |
| checkthat.ai small MSP high end | $156 | $28,080 |
Add onboarding on top. Rallied reports $2,000 to $6,000 one time for Autotask alone, and Kaseya 365 Ops onboarding is quoted separately. For a 15 seat shop the realistic first year is somewhere between roughly $17,000 and $30,000, with the Kaseya 365 Ops figure the most predictable because it is the only one printed by the vendor. Before you sign, it is worth reading what other MSPs report in independent SaaS reviews about renewal increases and onboarding quality, since those two lines move the three year total more than the list price does.
Which Autotask edition do you need for automatic ticket assignment?
Either. Workflow rules are included in Premium and Ultimate, and they are what sets Queue Name and Primary Resource/Role on new tickets. The catch is what a rule can assign. The Autotask help lists the options as a fixed resource or a dynamic role: Account Manager, Account Team, Department Lead, Timesheet Approver, Queue Owner, or Queue Resources. There is no round robin and no workload balancing, rules usually fire within 5 minutes, and they are never applied to tickets that already exist. We lay out every mechanism and where it leaks on our Autotask auto assign tickets page.
Picking a technician per ticket is where the edition starts to matter. The current Kaseya Intelligence help says its features, including Ticket Triage that can auto apply the primary resource above a confidence threshold, are included with Kaseya 365 Ops, ITSM+, and Ultimate subscriptions. The 2025 comparison sheet listed Smart Ticket Triage as coming soon and Ultimate only. So if per ticket assignment is the reason you are looking at Ultimate, have Kaseya show it running on your own tickets, and ask directly whether it takes each technician's current open workload into account. The help page lists skills, descriptions, issue types, and ticket history as inputs, and does not mention workload.
What it costs to add round robin to Autotask
MSPs that want fair rotation or least tickets assignment without moving to Ultimate usually add a dispatch tool. Prices below are from each vendor's own pricing page, checked September 2026.
| Tool | What it assigns by | Published price | 15 techs, per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Giant Rocketship Essentials | Round robin, least tickets, first available (SmartDispatch) | $40 per user per month, $200 monthly minimum, $495 onboarding | $7,200 plus $495 |
| MSPbots NextTicket | Next ticket for each tech | $50 per user per month, $299 onboarding | $9,000 plus $299 |
| Assigner | Round robin, weighted rotation, load balancing, skills, availability, with a reason on every assignment | $12 per user per month billed yearly, $15 billed monthly | $2,160 |
Autotask specific tools know the PSA deeply and many MSPs like them. Assigner is a general assignment engine that sits beside Autotask: each new ticket is sent to it, it applies the rules you write, and it picks one owner by rotation, current open workload, skills, and who is on shift, then records why. It does not touch contracts, time, or billing. The same engine handles MSP ticket assignment across client contracts and SLAs, which matters if you also run a second PSA or an internal help desk.
Questions to ask Kaseya before you sign
- Premium or Ultimate, priced separately? Get both editions quoted per user, not only the bundle.
