Hiver costs $25 to $85 per user per month on annual billing. Growth is $25 ($35 monthly) and caps at 10 users, Pro is $55 ($65 monthly), and Elite is $85 ($95 monthly), with a two seat minimum on every plan. Pro and Elite have unlimited users. Automation limits grow from 10 to 20 to unlimited per shared inbox, and voice is a $30 per seat add on.

If your team runs customer email out of Gmail through a shared inbox, the useful questions are what the seat price becomes at your headcount, which limits you hit first, and what to do about assignment as the team grows. This guide uses published figures only. For the routing side, our page on Hiver auto assignment and round robin shows what the native actions do and where a routing layer adds what they miss.

How much does Hiver cost per user?

The figures below come from the Hiver Omni pricing page, read November 7, 2026. Prices are in USD per user per month. The page shows two prices per plan next to a billing toggle, and independent price trackers match the lower figure to annual billing.

PlanAnnual billingMonthly billingUser capAutomations per shared inboxSLAs
Growth$25$3510 users10Not listed
Pro$55$65Unlimited20Included
Elite$85$95UnlimitedUnlimitedIncluded

Every plan starts at two seats. Live chat, email and self service are part of the plans, and voice is a separate $30 per voice seat per month with 1,000 pooled minutes, then $0.03 per extra minute. Pro and Elite reduced their annual prices recently, so older comparison articles often show higher numbers. Ask for the current price in writing before you sign.

What does Hiver cost for 5, 10 and 25 users?

Seat price times headcount, annual billing. The plan has to allow the headcount, which is why 25 users cannot sit on Growth.

UsersPlanPer month (annual billing)Per year
5Growth$125$1,500
10Growth$250$3,000
5Pro$275$3,300
10Pro$550$6,600
25Pro$1,375$16,500
10Elite$850$10,200
25Elite$2,125$25,500

The jump from Growth to Pro is $30 per user, so a team of ten that outgrows Growth pays $3,600 more per year before it adds a single person. Paying monthly instead of annually adds $10 per user on every plan, which is $1,200 a year at ten users.

Which Hiver limit do you hit first?

For a growing team it is usually the 10 user cap on Growth, or the 10 automations per shared inbox. One rule per category of mail, a VIP rule and an overflow rule use that allowance quickly, and a team with an inbox per client hits it on the first day. The second wall is the assignment limit, the per member cap that stops overload, which is listed on Pro and Elite and not on Growth. Skill based routing is listed on Elite only.

Is there a free Hiver plan?

The pricing page lists a free trial and a demo, and no permanent free plan. Some third party sites mention a free tier, but treat that with caution because older plan structures differ. Run a real week of email through the trial and judge Hiver on your own inbox.

What does assignment cost beside Hiver?

Hiver's round robin and Assign among actions are included within your plan. They pick among members marked available, they do not read a shift calendar, and selection by skill is an Elite feature. If you need weighted rotation, skills and shifts as inputs without moving to Elite, a routing layer sits beside Hiver. Assigner Starter is $7 per user per month billed yearly with a five user minimum, so 10 users is $840 a year and 25 users is $2,100.

UsersHiver Pro per yearHiver Elite per yearAssigner Starter per year
10$6,600$10,200$840
25$16,500$25,500$2,100

At 25 users, Pro plus Assigner is $18,600 a year against $25,500 for Elite, though Elite also brings unlimited automations and other features that this comparison does not price. Assigner is an add on to the helpdesk bill, not a replacement for it, and taxes are excluded.

What do the Hiver totals leave out?

Three costs sit outside the seat price. First, the Gmail or Google Workspace licence each user already pays for, because Hiver works on top of the inbox your team uses. Second, voice, at $30 per voice seat per month, which matters if even half the desk takes calls: ten voice seats add $3,600 a year. Third, the time to set up and tune shared inboxes, automations and availability. Members start unavailable by default, so the first week of a rollout usually includes chasing people to switch themselves on. None of this is a reason to avoid Hiver. It is a reason to price the whole workflow and not only the plan column.

How does Hiver compare with seat priced helpdesks?

Hiver's strength is that the team stays in Gmail, with no new inbox to learn. A full helpdesk such as Zendesk costs more per agent but brings ticket forms, reporting depth and many integrations. At five users, Hiver Pro at $3,300 a year is a modest line. At 25 users, $16,500 for Pro starts to sit in the range where a dedicated helpdesk deserves a quote. Compare on the work your team does, not the seat count alone.

Is a routing layer worth it beside Hiver?

Only if misrouting costs more than the tool. Pull a week of email and count how many conversations reached someone off shift, how many specialist questions went to a generalist, and the gap between your busiest and lightest teammate. At a loaded cost of $30 an hour, a lead who spends two hours a week rebalancing is about $3,100 a year, more than a ten user Assigner Starter plan. If the counts are small, stay native and spend on coverage.

How should you choose a Hiver plan?

Count the users you will have in twelve months, the automations per inbox you need and whether you need SLAs, then check them against the limits above. Then price the same headcount on Help Scout and Front, which target the same shared inbox buyer. One practical point for a Gmail based desk: if customers say your replies never arrive, a check of whether your sending domain or IP is blacklisted is worth doing before you blame the helpdesk or add seats.
